What are the different types of Life Insurance?
There are many different types of life insurance which include:
Term Life Insurance - The amount paid out to you should you make a claim remains the same throughout the whole duration of the policy.
Increasing Life Insurance - This is where the value of the policy can increase to help protect it against inflation. This usually involves a yearly review of your life insurance policy to determine whether or not your level of cover needs to be increased.
Mortgage Life insurance - This insurance is to pay off your mortgage should you die and usually decreases over time just as your mortgage does.
Level Life Insurance - This is the same as term in that the level of cover remains at the same value throughout the whole duration of the policy.
Decreasing Life Insurance - This is very similar to Mortgage Life Insurance in that the level of cover decreases over time.
Whole of Life Assurance - This life insurance policy runs the whole duration until you die unlike term insurance where it runs for a specific time, hence the name ‘Assurance’ instead of ‘Insurance’. These policies tend to be more expensive than Term policies.
